For Sale: Kitfox IV Speedster 1200 N95GH $29,500 TT Airframe/Engine approx 385 hrs Rotax 912UL 80 hp ser no. 4402025 IVO Prop model UR368TPQ TT approx 248 hrs KY 97A com/KT78 transponder/PM501 intercom WESTACH OIL TEMP/OIL PRES/CHT/EGT AMERI-KING AK-450 ELT Last annual condition insp. 11/15/24, so this plane is for sale in un-airworthy condition and the prospective buyer will have to sign a statement acknowledging this. I have complete logs for airframe/engine/prop along with the original builders manual. History: The airplane was built by an individual in Janesville, WI and completed in 2001. The kit mfg at the time was called SkyStar and I believe it was purchased and the build started in the early 90’s. I purchased it in June 2008 from the builder and had him fly it to me from Wisconsin to my home airport in Dexter, MO (DXE). It had about 70hrs TT when I took possession. Shortly before my purchase, the builder had a complete “service” on the engine done by East Troy Aircraft Maintenance in East Troy, WI. Numerous service bulletins were complied with at that time as well as both carbs overhauled. All of this is documented in the logs dated 5/1/2008 tach time 62.8. The original prop was a wood GSC which I replaced in Oct 2009 with an IVO composite due to the recommended 5yr life limit on the GSC. Known discrepancies and /or possible issues: The landing gear bungees are the original and are showing signs of degradation and in my opinion need to be replaced before next flight. This was noted as I was preparing for the annual condition inspection in April 2026. I had already changed the oil and oil filter as well a replacing all 8 spark plugs. I had an IA/A&P do a compression check and the results were: #1-78/80, #2-77/80, #3-68/80, #4 78/80. The engine starts and runs well and I was surprised that #3 was only 68, but it had been sitting a few weeks. The paint is wrinkling and cracking in several areas especially on the reinforcement tapes which I believe to be only a cosmetic issue and would still rate the paint/exterior 5-6/10. The black/red is vinyl applied professionally during the build and I would rate an 8-9/10. There are several Rotax SB’s that have not been complied with as they are not technically required on an experimental 912 engine, but they are recommended, so the buyer needs to be aware and willing to accept responsibility for these being done or not. These include but are not limited to: 5yr rubber replacement which includes all fuel/oil/coolant hoses, carb sockets and all rubber inside the carbs, & rubber donuts in the engine mounts. I replaced the fuel/oil/coolant hoses in 2013. I believe Rotax recommends the original fuel pump be replaced with a new style which has a fuel return line. Mode C transponder only, no ADS-B out. Reason for selling: Not flying enough (<10hrs/yr last couple of yrs) and getting too old to keep up with the maintenance.
